Tower of Styx is the third Tower Event introduced September 21, 2022 (Version 50). It consists of a Normal and Impossible Level of 25 floors each.
One formal difference between Styx and the two sister events is that the Tower descends downward to the Underworld. More importantly, Heroes are not permanently disabled by the Unique Tiles, so floors can be repeated easily (Energy permitting) or even autoplayed. To compensate for this decreased difficulty, there are Blessings only once in every 5 floors, with no Rare ones.
Gameplay[]
(See images or links below for details)
- Hero Class Restrictions – 4 Hero Classes are temporarily unusable for each group of 5 floors; the Styx Family are excepted.
- Soul Grasp tile – “targets” one Hero; in 3 turns explodes and damages its target; if matched in time, boosts the target's health.
Event Heroes[]
3* Heroes | 5* Heroes |
---|---|
Dante | Amphitrite |
Virgil | Charon |
Erebus | |
4* Heroes | Hypnos |
Arges | Nemesis |
Brontes | Nyx |
Steropes | Thanatos |
Family Bonus for 1/2/3 Heroes: When this Hero receives a status ailment affecting defense, 40 / 60 / 80 % chance to cast the received ailment to all enemies.
Like other Tower Events Heroes, the Styx Family can "supercharge" their mana: typically, the 1x, 2x or 3x charge strengthens the effect but there can also be larger differences.
"Mana Speed: Styx" seems identical with "Charge" (Ninja Tower Family), i. e. 4.905 tiles for each charge. (Other early reports said about 6, 9 and 12 tiles for the three charges.)
Cyclopes Troops[]
Savage Cyclopes ( Dark) |
Menacing Cyclopes ( Nature) |
Fierce Cyclopes ( Holy) |
Ferocious Cyclopes ( Fire) |
Conjurer Cyclopes ( Ice) |
During the Tower of Styx, special Epic Styx Troops named Cyclopes are available from Tower Troop Summon that replaces the usual Epic Troop Summon. Like with all other Tower Troops, the summon rates are:
- Rare Classic Troop 85 %
- Epic Classic Troop 10 %
- Epic Styx Troop 5 %
so their chance comes at the expense of baseline Rare Troops, while the 10 % of Classic Epic remains the same, therefore it pays to save the tokens (or Gems) for the event.
The fully leveled Styx Troops have 20 / 15 / 20 / 25 % bonus for Attack / Defense / Mana Generation / Bypass Defensive Buffs. They are the second troops to break the regular Mana Troops' 15% mana ceiling, after Magic Troops from the Tower of Magic – in fact Styx Troops are a cross between Magic and Ninja Troops, mixing their special Mana and Bypass abilities. Like Magic Troops, Styx Troops start at Mana +5 % with increments of 3 %, however these are shifted to Levels 5, 12, 16, 23 and 27.
