Team Cost is a property that simplifies Heroes' overall quality, specifically combination of rarity+ascension, on a scale of 3 to 26 (see table); on the Hero Card it is displayed at top left corner in a red circle (see example; the in-game pop-up help says it "limits the power of the Heroes you can have in your Team" but must not be confused with the [Team] Power in the top right). When putting together Teams, there is a limit on maximum overall Team Cost of all heroes included (displayed at the top right of the Edit Team screen); this grows as the Player progresses and gains levels – see there for detailed table.

By 2020s, the Team Cost is quite irrelevant or obsolete: In a player's typical progress, the team limit increases much faster than the cost of individual Heroes available – a full team of maxed 4* (5x 15) can be fielded on Player Level 10, and the ceiling (130, for 5 maxed Legendaries) is attained upon Level 30.  Thus it is extraordinarily rare to be held back by Team Cost; it might be conceivable for hardcore-whale pay-to-players who would summon and level strong Heroes before doing many map battles.

The lower, starting team cost in the table remains the same for all ascensions except the final, where it rises.
