In Empires & Puzzles the term "tank" refers to the hero placed in the center of your team. Of the 7 tile wide battlefield, only one tile hits each other hero, while the tank will absorb all three center tiles. Because of this, a tank must have high defense and high health. Traditional examples of quality tanks would be Boldtusk, Kashhrek, and Richard. These heroes are iconic tanks because they have more than just high defense and health, but because they also bring a strong team buff, or enemy team debuff along as well.
Quality Tanks by Star
Below is a listing of potential tanks, separated by star and element. Just because they are listed does not mean that they may not be the best overall hero for that particular element, only that they would soak damage well and that their Special Attack is useful. The absolute top tier choices per star are in italics.
