Dragons take on the primary mechanics of Heroes when used in battles that take place in the Dragonspire. They also provide aid to those same Heroes in battles within the Stronghold portions of Empires & Puzzles.
Heroes serves as Troops for the dragons:
- Regular dragons can only equip heroes of the same color and exact stars matching the dragon´s stars, including Trainer heroes.
- Trainer dragons can only equip Trainer heroes of the same color and exact stars matching the dragon´s stars, but not regular heroes.

- Team Cost
- Level and Ascension make the determination for the Dragon's stats as they are trained. During the process, the level for the Special Skill has a chance to be increased as well.
- Special Skill details their unique ability once their mana has been maxed at 100%. The speed at which Special Skills are charged are also described as their "Mana Speed."
- Assist Skill explains their unique abilities when brought into battles connected to the Stronghold.
